I began a Drupal 7 port of this module well over a year ago, have finally got around to posting it on github. Note that the challenging piece of changing it from a CCK field to a Drupal 7 field entity is not yet complete (my knowledge of Drupal 7 entities was limited at the time of creation). Posting here in case anyone would like to contribute to a functioning Drupal 7 version.
