The patch at #934976: Provide method to hide input format fields without disabling WYSIWYG is a pretty important one, as it allows developers to hide input format selects from users (particularly helpful on comment forms, when two formats are often available to anonymous users), however, this patch has only made it to the 2.x-dev branch of wysiwyg.module and the maintainers do not seem like they're going to cut a release anytime soon.

Yep. I'm down with this. We've been using this patch for a while with several sites. It's already been committed in WYSIWYG. Maybe one day they will actually make a 2.3 release of WYSIWYG but until then we'll include this patch. WYSIWYG Tests passing in local. Committed. Thanks!
