When a new profile field is added the required field isnt obeyed on saving

ie if a new catetory tab is create called "Name" and there is a required field within this category tab - the required field is only obeyed when the user is looking directly at the "Name" category

if the user is looking at any other category tab the required field behind this tabs are not called

User create a new profile field that input is required for ie catetory tab pet name and a "Name" field must be provide

category tab Pet Name appears along side User tab (think this is it) tab field

When Pet Name tab is highlighted and the user submits the form with a "Name" - Bingo form is submited
When Pet Name tab is highlighted and the user doesnt submit a name for their pet - error is generated

Now the interesting bit if no data has be entered into the "Name" field remember its required !!

now the User tab is selected along the top of the holding tabs user submits the form ideally an error message should be generated as there is no data in the Name field of the Pet Name tab - this is a problem
