this module was never updated to handle the fact that update_status was renamed to just "update" when it was moved into core.

Committed attached patch to HEAD. Since there's only ever going to be 1 version of update.module in D6 core, there's no need for the kinds of tricks I used over at http://drupal.org/node/172458 to deal with 5.x-1.* vs. 5.x-2.* in contrib.
