When viewing the theme on Safari Web browser, the menus do not work properly, you see span tags etc.

The attached PDF shows it's a duplicate of http://drupal.org/node/20684 (and fixed as of http://drupal.org/files/projects/friendselectric-cvs.tar.gz).
