Problem/Motivation

I use geofield only for storing data. I also have much better solutions for spatial search, then I'm not going to use this new feature in the upcoming release. Moreover, it seems to be a overkill to have such feature in a module which primary focus is to be used as storage.

Proposed resolution

I suggest separating this feature and also others, such as handling complex geometries, into separate modules. Some of these features could be delivered as sub-modules of geofield, but I really don't get the point of spatial search included in this module.
