pwolanin is making heroic efforts to update search.module to (a) be a framework and (b) use plugins for Drupal 8.

He indicated to me in IRC that he was willing to be listed in MAINTAINERS.txt as the maintainer. Unfortunately he also tried to draft me as co-maintainer, and I'm still thinking about it.

Meanwhile, Doug Green (currently listed maintainer for 7 and 8) has as far as I know done nothing on search.module in 7 or 8.

Needs a patch, but I thought I'd at least file the issue.

Awesome! :) And the award for "most enthusiastic RTBC ever" goes to jhodgdon! ;)

Committed and pushed to 8.x. Thanks!
