I need to use a jquery plugin in my panpoly based distro that requires jQuery 1.8, but the Panopoly Admin module is already using the strongarm for this variable, settings it to 1.7. If it's possible for you to update this to 1.8 that would be great.

dsnopekJust to throw my two cents in here: lots of contrib modules break with jQuery 1.8. You'll probably have to patch them. I personally think that since this affects which patches get used, it probably does make sense to use strongarm in Panopoly to force 1.7.
However, in your profile or a core module in your distribution, you can implement hook_strongarm_alter() and change ths to 1.8!

jurriaanroelofs commentedThx, unfortunately I quicky found out after upgrading that Panopoly itself does not work very well at all with 1.8, so I have to manage by downgrading other libraries to older versions.

populist commentedI am going to close this since a lot of modules do break with jQuery 1.8.
