I have registrations set up on a commerce product (that costs money) with a capacity of 3 and a wait list of 0 (unlimited, but also tried it at 5) and once the original 3 slots are filled, the cart button is removed and says
No slots available
This item is currently unavailable.
I'm assuming that a user should still be able to hit the cart button and submit info to get on the wait list (register with a wait list state), but there's no option for users to do so. Am I missing something? Also, if a product costs money and users need to get on the wait list, do they still have to pay the money to do so or can they bypass that just to get wait listed?
Thank you!

adwuk commentedSubmitting my first patch, so be kind :) Commerce registration calls registration_has_room and not registration_status - it therefore misses out on the registration waitlist module override on the status. I hope this is a starting point for others to improve.

nco71 commentedI m interested in that feature , would there be a way to implement that using some hooks and a separate / additional sub module ?

blacklabel_tom commentedHi,
As a quick and easy solution you could create a webform which is your waiting list. This would hold the order and you can add whichever fields you wants.

elstudio commentedGreat patch, @staceyb!
Works for me, though I've updated the patch to make the response text translatable.
Otherwise, it's great.
+1 for RTBC.

TravisJohnston commentedGreat work everyone, though this patch only works when there is 1 product attached to the product view. Once you have more than 1 product attached, which then shows the select box to choose which product you want to add to your cart, this doesn't work as the add to cart form array isn't specific enough.
This is my first patch, and I'm still fairly new to PHP so it may not be the best. But basically it's a build off of the patch included by @elstudio, which only applied to the "hidden" case, now this one applies to the "select" case as well and does some additional tasks that I needed.
In order for wait lists to work for me, I needed the following:
Let me know what you think, this patch may be a little overkill for some since I needed the above to work.
