During a checkout on a Kickstart site, after chossing "Credit card or debit card" and then "Continue to the next step", I get an error message (see joined photo).

Looking at the screenshot, the issue is that you haven't configured PayPal Payments Advanced, not Website Payments Pro (WPP). Can you doublecheck that you actually configured the right thing? I updated the issue title accordingly.

Ok, it was exactly as I had assumed. You simply never configured PPA, and judging by the fact that you reported the error for WPP, I'm going to assume you configured the wrong thing thinking you were updating PPA. In other words, this works as designed. However, I did go ahead and ensure those notices won't appear even if you attempt to checkout without first configuring PPA or PFL.
