Madam/Sir,

one of the things* that keeps me from using your exceptionally beautiful theme
Bamboo with my latest project is the behavior of the menu when it collapses
to a button (I call this the "Mobile Menu").

Clicking on the Mobile Menu lists all menu items and their subitems as an indented
list, which is beautifully done.
The only snag is that on a mobile phone screen area is scarce. So it would be a boon
to make the subitems disappear by clicking on their parent item and make them
reappear by another click on the parent item.

This and *implementing the spread and pinch gesture (http://drupal.org/node/1975464)
would make Bamboo the best choice to start mobile theming. The only possible
exception is Professional Theme but this also has a (minor) bug in the Mobile Menu.

If I knew more of JavaScript and of CSS-tricks I'd do it myself, but alas, ...

Thank you very much for your efforts!

Best regards,
CatsAreNice

Hi, this is a good feature request, I'm not sure when I'll be able to get to it but I like the idea, I think it might be better UX for mobile devices.

Dear highrockmedia,

thank you very much for considering this feature worth a future implementation.

Professional Theme has already implemented this "click on parent item and view its children approach".
But there seems to be a not-that-easy-to-overcome snag, as can be seen at
http://drupal.org/node/1978172.

Bamboo and Professional Theme are both almost perfect allrounder themes, so why don't you join forces?
(These themes are neck and neck with just a slight lead for Professional Theme ...)

I'm not that experienced a programmer as I should be but if I can help in any way let me know.

Best regards,
CatsAreNice

Ok, I'll take a look at how Professional Theme does that and the issue referenced. I'm all for joining forces but in this case, I consider Bamboo to be very unique and would rather keep it by itself so I don't see this happening. However, I'm all for people contributing patches and feature requests.

Just for reference, I may use this: http://osvaldas.info/drop-down-navigation-responsive-and-touch-friendly -- I think it does what this issue is about and it's pretty lightweight. Using this may depend on the license, I put an inquiry in the comments there.

Update: Most likely will use: http://jasonweaver.name/lab/flexiblenavigation/
