I noticed three instances of "jqeury" instead of "jquery" in this version of the module.

I also stumbled on the issue of upgrading to v1.2.1/recent releases of jquery. I had no trouble in updating to jquery v1.2.1 by:
-replacing jquery.js in the /misc folder with the same v1.2.1
-replacing jquery.js in the jquery_update module folder with the same v1.2.1
-as well as correcting the mispellings mentioned above.

All is well and showing jquery v1.2.1 as correctly installed (in Status Report).

Attached is a patch in order to fix the typos.

Couldn't apply the patch (failed) but manual editing worked for me.

Tryed the solution proposed by bobdalob with jQuery 1.2.3 and couldn't find any downsides so far.
