I can't figure out how to make those dots appear instead of text controls on the slideshow. Can anyone help?

You have to add Nid field (hidden content) in views slideshow and then in slideshow settings - enable Pager and choose in "Pager fields" - "Content: Nid" field.
And that's it.

Ps. I suppose you have added css/views.css to zircon.info

You can download the demo site as a package here: http://www.weebpal.com/sites/default/files/packages/zircon.zip and install it on your local machine.

You can export the views to your dev site or recreate them.
