I've just updated to Drupal 7.21 and View 7.x-3.6

For several nodes that have embedded views (list of upcoming events w/ specific taxonomy tags),
I'm now seeing the following error in my Log (and the view doesn't display):

Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$machine_name in views_plugin_argument_validate_taxonomy_term->validate_argument()
(line 108 of /home/rvuufian/public_html/sites/all/modules/views/modules/taxonomy/views_plugin_argument_validate_taxonomy_term.inc).

here's the code that used to work in these nodes:

$view_args = array(85);  // *taxonomy id*
$view_name='UpcomingEventsCat';     $display_id='default';
print views_embed_view($view_name, $display_id, $view_args[0]);

look here, think it's the same problem: http://drupal.org/node/1949178
you should have to patch module views head to - sites/all/modules/views/modules/taxonomy and patch proper .inc file.
For me /ubercart catalog views with "Has taxonomy term ID"/ works.

I had same problem, the patch suggested fixed it immediately. Thx.
I see many users struggle with this problem , hopefully this fix shall be added to the release?.
