We discussed with @xatoo, that there can be an additional "Quote request processing" or similar status, and the existing statuses could be divided into "Quote request" and "Quote" states. The discussion took place here: #1326212-31: Let customers build a "quote" cart and request a quote instead of checkout

The proposed state-status arrangement:

  • Quote request (quote_request):
    • Request for quotation (request_for_quotation)
    • Quote processing (quote_request_processing)
    • Processed quote request (quote_request_processed)
  • Quote (quote):
    • Quotation response (quotation_response)
  • Canceled (canceled, provided by Drupal Commerce):
    • Canceled quote (canceled_quote)

The status naming could also be unified (eg. "quote/quotation", "quote"/"quote request"), if everybody agrees.
I welcome any comments on these ideas.

I attached a preliminary patch with the new states and statuses, but I haven't renamed any existing status.
Modified the title wording to better describe the issue.
