A simple feature request, as I am tired of forgetting which modules have been patched and then overwriting those patches :)

Would it be possible to hook into the update/upgrade process and present users with a warning if a particular module has been previously patched? Even better would be an option to disable udpates for patched modules altogether so that admins could perform site-wide module upgrades without having to worry about the previously performed patches.

Does that make any sense? Heh, let me know if I can elaborate further. What do you think?
