How about going through the issue queue and assigning this issue as the parent for all must-have bugs, that way a plan can be worked out?

We have seven issues that need review and five that are already RTBC. We just need a maintainer/comaintainer to put it all together.

@Stomper -- highly doubtful imo. entityreference has been added to core for d8 and this is definitely not core material.

Also, i think the biggest issue we need to tackle before a 1.0 release is abstracting out all the node specific stuff: #2325073: fix entity support for non-node entities.

removing related issue and adding it as a child issue.

also note, it's now actively maintained and quite usable for nodes. The main brittleness is using on non-nodes (custom entities, users, taxonomy terms, etc).

I think we're in a good place for a beta release-- i've tagged it and created the release node. Should be published soon.

The only possible addition before a 1.0 release would be #2325073: fix entity support for non-node entities, but I'd like to at least do a beta so folks might feel more comfortable to test. I've done extensive testing and will be using in real project and so far it's been rock solid.
