Available options shouldn't be required field

The settings for a select or other field don't indicate that the "Available options" field is required (no red asterisk), but when you attempt to save you aren't allowed to continue without entering a value for this field.

In my use case, I plan to build up the options as the content is added and would prefer not to have to predefine any options.
