I would love to translate the UI text for this module to German, but I can't find the project on http://localize.drupal.org/. Is this because there hasn't been any "full release" yet?

You are correct. localize.drupal.org only indexes release versions. I have made a release of the current dev with minor text changes.

I added the german strings. I couldn't find the string "Drag files here." tho. Is this one hardcoded?
