Go Back browser button to close lightbox popup

Hello everyone!
I'm trying to build a picture gallery using node galleries. However, some users still use go back button to close the popup window, and as a result redirect to previous page. So, I guess it would be much better if user stayed on the gallery page, instead of refreshing the gallery (and profile) page all the time. For example, Facebook have the same concept.
Any ideas?
