Required fields based on role

I am looking to make fields required or not based on the current role. So say an admin went in they would need to enter values for Title and Body but description wasn't. And when a user role, say Content Updater went to enter values all the fields would be required.

If you plan on doing something like this great!

However, I plan on looking into writing and implementing these features into my own version of the module. If you want me to post a patch or description of the changes that's fine with me. It may not be the most elegant solution however I do believe I will get it working.
