I cannot seem to successfully open the archive file for this module (http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/upload_image-5.x-1.x-dev.tar.gz). I can download it okay, but everytime I try to open it I get an error. I'm attaching the screenshots of my attempt to open it with WinZip. Also, I've copied the archive to my Linux environment and have tried to use gunzip+tar to extract the archive contents, but this also fails.

i just checked and had no problem extracting the file you linked to. please re-open the issue if it's not working for you.

Don't use Winzip, Use Winrar =)
