Cannot number pages correctly on this machine.

I don’t know if I am writing about a software problem or a hardware problem; however, I believe that it is a software adjustment that I don’t know how to make. The program was installed by Dell when I purchased the machine, a Dell Latitude D600, thus Microsoft referred me to Dell and that has gotten me nowhere.

I have always had a problem when I tried to print page numbers on the bottom of a page; however, no more transcriptions than I was handling, it was inconsequential.

Thing have changed and I am in the position of having to transcribe documents consisting of many pages; thus, the must be numbered.

Only the top half of the number shows and you are generally unable to discern the page numbers.

I have been able to isolate the problem to this Latitude D600 by testing it on two different printers, and then, I page numbered a Word document on our Dell Optiplex GX270P and the page numbers showed up exactly where they were supposed to show up.

Please tell me how to make the adjustment to raise the page number enough that it is legible.
