Need Survey Block for Left Column

I love the Survey Module in conjunction with Forms, but after building a survey, I need for it to appear in the left column of my site, as a block. Right now I'm viewing source on my rendered survey node, then pasting that into a block, but the only way I get it to work as a block in the left column is when I am on the survey page itself, with the survey in the main content area and in the left column of my page. From my top page or any other page, the survey block on the left just submits to nowhere with no confirmation or e-mail sent to me as the survey recipient. Again, everything works fine if I'm on the survey page. Any help is much appreciated!
