Here's a small fix getting the entity id in file entity formatters. Basically it uses the code from the node and user reference formatters in media/file formatters also.

I'm using this together with file_entity 7.x-2.0-unstable3.

That patch probably worked together with media 1 and mediafield, which I'm not particularly interested in supporting. I commited a solution for file fields over here:
