Is it possible to add a search box, using filters in views module?

I would love to have this feature as well. I take it all that is needed is to migrate the handlers from the 6.x to the 7.x version. I have been reading up on Views 3.x so would be keen to help on this if needed as really see this module taking off once missing features are added.

This would be really useful. A search-block would make apache solr views much more useable site-wide.
