BeautyTips in uc_ajax_cart block

I have an issue with the use of uc_ajax_cart and beautytips. I think it is similar to what was covered in this issue http://drupal.org/node/738100. I've added a tip to the ajax cart block by copying the template file provided with that module to my theme directory and adding the appropriate selector and title text. Upon initial page load, the beautytip appears properly, but if I add a product to the cart, the beautytip stops working. Note that if the beautytip is in another block or in the node body, everything works fine upon adding products to cart; beautytip continues to function. I posted this in the uc_ajax_cart issue queue as well (http://drupal.org/node/1325994), but wasn't sure which module was more likely causing the problem.
