I'm not 100% sure this is a bug but I've double checked my settings etc.

When I try to bulk create some products I fill the form out and click "Create Products and Create Display" expecting to be taken to a node/add form that is pre populated with the node reference. Instead the bulk creation form is reloaded with a message telling me x products have been created. The products are indeed created but no display node is associated with them.

I just reproduced this behavior, and saw that there was an issue with the default handling.

Fixed. As a workaround, you can just go to
Administration » Store » Configuration » Bulk product creation $raquo; Display node settings
and save the form once.
