Thanks for the work sofar, looks like location_taxonomize doesn't fulfill my needs so I'll do my best to support this development.
The thing I need most (and also the reason I dropped location_taxonomize) was the automatic import of regions that your module provided in an earlier zip version.

Is importing regional data still on the roadmap for this module?

I think that I will be using this for two websites, one based around rock climbing locations and another based on tourism. However, all other regional address-like requirements, the location taxonomy looks like the best bet atm.

Yes, I'm still looking at regional imports. I'm working on doing a geonames import, but this is nasty due to the share size / volume of the data. The USA dump is 50MB zipped...

Maybe I'll report the much smaller ISO codes one that I initially started with ages ago. The problem is that this data is old now, and really would like to find a newer version (eg: that has South Sudan regions for example)
