I have a lot of patches lined up for the cache system in Drupal 8, so I'm offering myself up as co-maintainer. I e-mailed Damien this weekend to check he actually wants a co-maintainer, and he said that's fine :)

Marking as 'Needs backport to D7' as well since there's a few outstanding issues there.
