hello I am just checking out OS ecommerce sites and drupal is a contender but are you are if it covers these features
I think it covers most of these features below...but I am not clear on
1. posting by other users..apart from admin
3 and 4 commissions..ie points 3 and 4 below...this is important to me to be able to motivate users to bring products to the site.. we wd rely more on third party products.
We would want sellers to be able to come to our site to sell themselves (ie put a store on our site using their own or other products) from which they can make a commission and so can we. Is that the same as an affiliate system. That is where we wd make say 1% on their sales if they post on our site and refers back to their site? That is different.
16 can it support digital products?
pls feel free to comment on other features too..
1. anyone can post ie not just admin? Q do you effectively become a user by posting? i guess so?
2. buyer does not need to register? why shd person become user..? need quick checkout
3. need to take commission
4. need to enable user to set up own store so she takes commission and so do we..ie 2 sets of commissions
5. good incoming RSS content possible..ie a RSS widget wd be ideal where we just need to point to feed and in it goes..Content is King.!
6. good product reviews for trust...CONTENT.. like/unlike/comment etc. list out reviews
7. all payt options to not lose customers
8. connect with social media..ie create chat around sector CONTENT
9. v easy to login by email + Oauth
10. lots of plugins/good themes
11. mainstream..other serious users use this OS method
12. generally good reviews from developers
13. digital and physical...shipping options poss via plugin\
14. great appearance of themes..good fonts etc so minimal redesign needed
15. quick to load and can scale
16 digital and physical products
I wd like to go with the closest to the ideal features then adapt from there...I am most of the time in Belgrade or London and if there are developers who live there, it can be easier to get the job done.. pls let me know
cheers
nick

rfayYou'll find lots of information about Commerce and Drupal on the web, but this isn't really the place for general requests. Please do some searching, read about Drupal 7. The primary possible commerce modules for D7 are Commerce (http://drupal.org/project/commerce) and Ubercart (http://drupal.org/project/ubercart).
