I'm currently experiencing problems arranging and theming the attached content due to the fact that it is placed in the node content variable. The problem is that the contents of the content variable can be very unstructured, and if users are creating the content, well... i'm sure you get the picture.

Have you considered setting up a field that it can attached to when the field is rendered, so that it can be moved around within the node more easily? This would also give it similar functionality to how EVA allows you to move the attachment in the display tab.

Nevermind... I was looking for it in the display tab and forgot to look in the manage fields tab. I've been working with drupal 7 too much :).
