When using Privatemsg as the sending method, the message does not get send. I've used the test form on multiple users, but the message simply does not appear in their inbox. Ofcourse with repeatedly running cron. Also I tried using Notifications (4.x) but with the same result.
It's important to note that with Messaging 2.4 everything works as it should (tested with notifications 2.3). But I really would like to use 4.0 because of its Appbar capabilities, and I'm surprised that I only found one similar issue in the queue. I checked my settings and permissions over and over, what am I missing here? Is there anyone who can confirm having Privatemsg and Messaging 4.0 working together?

I believe i have the same issue here.

I'm testing Messaging Privatmsg with rules #212865: Rules integration: adding an action and i don't get any messages on user account panel.

However, using Privatemsg Email Notification, i get the notification with the direct url to the message, and i see the message with a warning "This conversation is being viewed with escalated privileges and may not be the same as shown to normal users."

This is because the user viewing the message is not part of the conversation.

Hi I recreated messaging_privatemsg and now you can send messages over the privatemsg ;-) and you can look at the issue Path of the Privatemsg module in conflict with the path of the Simlpe messaging submodule
