So the Override button does not come up in the spoked-wheel settings for Use Pager, where you set the number of items. It only shows in the initial dialog, where you choose the pager mode. It wasn't obvious to me that you specify Override there and then go to the settings to choose a different number to get a different count in different displays.
Not sure if there is a way to indicate that in the UI. Otherwise maybe this post will help people save some time figuring this out.
