I'm trying to use the Disqus module which requires you turn off commenting for your node types. I have disabled comments for a node type, however for someone with commenting permissions, the add comment area still appears.

I've flushed caches and all that, didn't help.

I also don't have any comments (approved or not) on the site as I'm still in development, so it's not appearing because of existing comments.

I will disable the area with CSS, however I think this is a bug. There's also a number of other people recently reporting this issue on the forums: #706242: Can't disable comments on Product type and #912070: Can't disable comments on content types
