Due to bugs in the packaging utility on drupal.org, we cannot currently create release nodes for this installation profile. I'll keep this issue up to date with compressed archives holding the full distribution - i.e. Drupal 7 + Dependencies + Drupal Commerce. All you have to do to install is uncompress the archive to your server, browse to it, and install using the Commerce Kickstart installation profile.

This snapshot has been tested as working. The modules for this version are in the profiles/commerce_kickstart/modules/contrib directory. If you need to update any of the modules, you should replace them here or delete them here and install to another valid modules directory (i.e. sites/all/modules).

[ Redacted the download links b/c the archives were corrupt. :-/ ]

(Apparently these files are too big to be attached, so download via the links above.)

I just tried the Mar 6 version of the above... it installed ok but ONLY after I removed the sites/default/settings.php file (that will be created automatically, from a template of default.settings.php, by the install process)

if you don't remove it, you get a mysql error, as it tries to look for a non-existent database, when install should be prompting you for one instead.

Sorry, I should have saved the error message text, I could have put it here in this post, to make it searchable Oh well, too late now.

I tried installing the kickstart profile but I'm running into problems, the standard profile installs fine. I would like to install onto an existing Drupal 7 site. I shall appreciate any ideas or assistance especially a brief outline of what to do in stepwise fashion.

Thanks in advance for your kind assistance.

To install on an existing site you wouldn't use the install profile; you have to install manually from the modules page. The install profile is only for the initial installation of the Drupal site.

Ryan, thanks for your assistance could please elaborate a little bit on manual installation from the modules page?

Thanks once more.

All it takes is installing the Commerce modules and their dependencies, nothing fancy. Kickstart is just a fancy way to package it all together and provide a small amount of initial display configuration. Refer to the installation instructions at http://drupal.org/project/commerce.

Hi, sorry if I miss it...but where can I download Commerce Kickstart please?
I do not use drush and just need a tarball somewhere?
Thanks a lot in advance for your reply!
greetings,
Martijn

Do you have Git? If so, follow the Git instructions tab on the project page. Unfortunately, d.o isn't setup to build tar balls for these yet. I'll try again soon and see if maybe one of our developers can help get it all working.

Just a heads up that you can grab a snapshot (click the snapshot link) from the code repository viewer: http://drupalcode.org/project/commerce_kickstart.git

Ooooh, wow. I actually didn't know the code browser did snapshot releases. Thanks for the heads up, Steph. : )

Also, sometime between DrupalCon Chicago and now, the bug preventing my release node was fixed, so we now have a dev release available on the project page for download. Because we're still dependent on dev versions of our dependencies, we cannot package the full distribution release.

I downloaded D7.2, created my db, downloaded the 5 necessary modules, and downloaded kickstart to the profile directory. Started the install (choosing kickstart) and got stalled. Right after choosing English as the language, I get this message: "Sorry, the profile you have chosen cannot be loaded." Not sure where to go from here! Perhaps it's a newbie error...
