I guess I missed something for D7 on nesting a subtheme within a theme so the liquid version isn't working. Maybe I can just make this an option on the theme settings page to enable the liquid layout and load the CSS file using preprocess function. Does anyone else have a suggestion?

you have to rename aberdeen-liquid in aberdeen_liquid (the directory and the .info file)
