Taxonomy for create new node

When using subform to create new child nodes only the cck defined fields show up, not taxonomy. This creates an error if there are taxonomies that are mandatory for node creation. My temp workaround is to change all taxonomies to be not required and instruct the user to go to "detailed edit" once they create new nodes so they can properly assign the taxonomies to that node. (which is a small price to pay for this cool feature ;)

If you have an idea of where to start looking to fix this, give me an idea. Thanks.
