I think i already know the answer to this but lets try anyway.
The way threaded lists work is great and i'm all for that but if a member of the site hits the reply button to a wrong comment the entire tree of conversation gets out of sync so to speak.
This has happened recently where one member, unintentionally, hit reply and replied to a quite long conversation within a thread. However his reply was for a seperate part of the topic and now everyone has replied to his comment making the entire conversation very difficult to follow.
All it should be a case of doing is moving his original comment to a more appropiate part of the discussion, taking all the sub comments of that comment with it. But alas there is no option for that and i cannot believe that this oversight has been overlooked for so long. How is an admin supposed to admin then ?
Any help, views or opinions appreciated.

Using comment mover
Unfortunately it hasn't been updated for 4.7 (working on that this week).

Oh that looks wonderfull and i await the 4.7 upgrade with eagerness.
It looks exactly what i'm looking for, many thanks.

I'm also looking forward to having the comment_mover module available for 4.7. I have some questions though.
1) It looks as though it will only convert comments to forum nodes. Is that so? Could it be adapted to convert comments to story nodes?
2) Will it be possible to change the name of the comment in the conversion process?
3) Does the module include a cross reference between the new node and the old thread from which it was pruned? The comment_split module did this but I have seen no indication that it will be upgraded.
Thanks.
Some answers
1) It looks as though it will only convert comments to forum nodes. Is that so? Could it be adapted to convert comments to story nodes?
Yes, it only converts comments to forum nodes, Yes it can be adapted to convert comments to story nodes as well, but I do not see clear use cases for this. EDIT: File a feature request with clear use cases against comment_mover if you'd like to see this.
2) Will it be possible to change the name of the comment in the conversion process?
No, but you can do so before or after the conversion.
3) Does the module include a cross reference between the new node and the old thread from which it was pruned? The comment_split module did this but I have seen no indication that it will be upgraded.
No, there's only a reference from the old thread to the new node / comment.
