Science Buzz, the Science Museum of Minnesota's current science community website and science blog has been awarded two distinctions at the 2006 Museums and the Web conference (the international conference for culture and heritage online).

Science Buzz won:
Best Innovative or Experimental Application
and
Best of the Web aka Best Overall Museum Web Site

Much of the credit for this work goes to the Drupal community. Drupal allows me the ability to build off of a large group of amazing features and to bring an active online community to our museum. Thanks Drupal!

Since the contrib CVS is starting to get relativly full again here is the list of modules/themes that haven't been updated or had any stable releases for a while. These will get moved to the Attic in CVS to make it easier to find what is currently active projects. We will also move all files in the sandboxes that haven't been touched in a year or more to the Attic as well.

If anyone spots any mistakes post a comment and we will clean it up.

Modules and themes with no 4.5.x, 4.6.x 4.7.x, releases, and not updated since 2005-09-30 (~6 months)

In October 2005, we conducted a Drupal.org user survey to get feedback on the Drupal.org website and to prioritize the work we should put into improving it. We have since been working on the improvements that the respondents felt were most important. Today, we are pleased to roll out a number of these improvements. At the same time, we've upgraded Drupal.org to the latest CVS version.

So, in good Drupal tradition, we the developers get to eat our own dog food again, and you the users get to see and test these latest changes. Please let us know if you find anything out of whack - this has been a significant upgrade and we are still fine-tuning the site.

I'm happy to announce the probably first German book about Drupal, written by Hagen Graf: "Drupal: Community-Websites entwickeln und verwalten mit dem Open Source-CMS". The book covers the Drupal 4.7-beta series. It has been published a few days ago and should be available from your favorite bookstore by now, as well as from Pearson Education/Addison-Wesley or Amazon.
