Announcing: CompuMentor Assumes Fiscal Sponsorship for CivicSpace 501c3

San Francisco, CA – March 21, 2006— Nonprofit assistance provider CompuMentor, Home of TechSoup (www.compumentor.org), today announced that it will act as a fiscal sponsor for community organizing software and services provider CivicSpace (http://civicspacelabs.org) , which will be splitting its operations into a nonprofit and a for-profit unit.

Towards Drupal 4.7RC... Almost There

Before Drupal 4.7 is released, 'release candidates' (RCs) are made available. RCs are the next step on from beta releases, with the addition that they generally should not have any critical bugs in them. In theory, if new bugs don't come up during an RC, then the RC gets released as the real thing after a few weeks. Generally though, there will be three or four RCs before the full release.

New DC Drupal Users Group

After the enormously successful DC Drupal meet-up, myself (Ted Serbinski), Eric Gundersen (Development Seed), and Tim Jones have decided to create a DC Drupal Google group to further faciliate the growing DC Drupal community. If you're interested and are in the DC area, please signup!

First Montreal Drupal Meetup, March 23rd

At a recent meeting Koumbit.org decided to sponsor a gathering of Montreal-based Drupal developers and users to take place on March 23rd.

Montreal is home to a lot of active Drupalers and it's time that we got to know each other a little better. There's a lot going on in the community and together we can make a big difference!
