Added as a task. This will be more than a one-step process, but I'm looking to comb through the code and improve the whitespacing, etc. I'm using the Coder module, but if anyone finds a coding violation, please let me know.

Tested with Coder module, and corrected lots of spacing. Still a few lingering spacing violations, mostly that the table prefix is being manually prep-ended to the table name... which I'm not sure if it's "fixable".

Cleaned up a lot more code, especially the formatting of arrays in the multisite_search.install file, and a lot of comments in .module.
