Mail new password =>E-mail address not checked?

When I was trying to make the watchdog entries translatable, I was asking Drupal for mailing me a new password so I could see if the strings r translated succesfully and so on...
Then I filled in another e-mail address than I was registered with at my Drupal site. For example...
In the 'E-mail new password' form:

Stefan Nagtegaal.

E-mail address:
Stefan@Sempre-Crescendo.nl
------------------------------------------------

this is what I filled in, But I was registered with the e-mail address Stefan@Frontaal-Online.com. Drupal is getting the e-mail address from the db and sends a new password to the e-mail address which is in there. It isn't checking anymore if the filled in e-mail address matches with the e-mail address in the db...
