Release notes

First stable release of User Form Simplify.

The module has run on a production Drupal 11 site since early October as two custom modules, one that hid account form elements and one that limited time zone lists. For this release they became one generic module with a settings page, tests and documentation.

What's in it

  • Hide chosen elements of the account edit form, the registration form and the account page. The list of elements is read from your own account form.
  • Hidden inputs are reset to their saved value on submit, so they can't be changed with a hand-made request.
  • Limit time zone lists to the time zones of chosen countries, grouped by country, on user forms or on every form. Includes a one-click United States preset.
  • Settings page as a Simplify tab on the account settings, using core's Administer account settings permission.
  • Configuration schema with validation constraints.

Compatibility

Drupal 10.3 or later and Drupal 11. Tested on 10.3 and 11.4. Hooks are implemented as classes, with legacy functions for Drupal 10.3 to 11.0.

Installing

composer require drupal/user_form_simplify:^1.0

Nothing is hidden or limited until you configure it at /admin/config/people/accounts/simplify.
