Release notes

  • System lines store facts: who made the change, the person it was about, and for a rename the new name. The sentence is written when the line is shown, in the reader's language, and follows renamed or deleted accounts.
  • New SystemLineBuilder service, and a "System line" display component on private messages that shows the sentence. Lines saved before this release still display.
  • A renamed conversation's line quotes the name, and a name with an ampersand shows as typed.
  • Renaming a conversation to the name it already has writes nothing.
  • New ThreadMessagePager service: one page of a thread's messages without loading the whole thread, for API and app clients.
  • New MembershipManagerInterface::memberSlots(): how many more people a thread can take before its cap.
  • Run database updates after upgrading: private_message_advanced_update_10001() adds the two new message fields.
  • New kernel tests for system lines and the pager; PHPUnit, PHPCS, PHPStan, stylelint and cspell all green at this tag.
