Problem/Motivation

The demo content shipped with the RightUp site template carries placeholder bodies, so every article page reads the same below the headline.

  • The 33 shipped articles carry roughly 300 characters of body each, and two of the three sentences are identical on all of them: "We spoke to the people closest to the work about how it came together, what changed along the way, and what they would do differently next time." and "The full story, with drawings, process photographs and a timeline of the project, follows below."
  • The seven podcast episodes repeat their own summary as the body, so the "Audio Transcript" section on the episode page shows the same paragraph the "Details" section shows directly above it.
  • The effect on a demo site is that every article page looks identical below the headline, which is the opposite of what a site template is for: the pages are meant to show an editor what real content looks like in this design.
  • Measured before the change: body length across the news and podcast nodes ranged 270 to 388 characters.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install the RightUp site template.
  2. Open any two articles, for example /news/architecture-unease-how-brutalism-became-beautiful-again and /news/milan-design-week-opens-record-number-independent-studios.
  3. Below the standfirst the two pages carry the same two sentences.

Proposed resolution

  • Write a distinct body for each of the 33 articles, around 265 words, in the shape of a short reported piece: an opening scene specific to that story, a named source with their role, two paragraphs of concrete detail, a pull quote, a section on what happens next, and a closing line. Three heading shapes rotate across the set so the pages do not all look alike.
  • Give the seven episodes a real interview transcript in question-and-answer form with the episode's named host, instead of repeating the summary.
  • Keep every existing date, category, author and image.

Measured after the change

  • 33 unique bodies, average 265 words, shortest 228, longest 350.
  • No shared paragraph appears in more than 12 of the 33 articles.
  • Article page renders 12 paragraphs, 3 section headings and a pull quote, roughly 500 words in the main landmark.
  • Episode transcripts are about 1,370 characters each.
  • Fresh install: exit 0, 0 watchdog entries at severity 3 or lower.

Remaining tasks

  • ✅ File an issue.
  • ❌ Addition:
    • ❌ Episodes still ship no audio: field_audio_url is empty, so the player on the episode page has nothing to play. A real file or a stable public URL has to be chosen deliberately.
    • ❌ Article images have no caption or credit; the design shows one under the lede picture.
  • ❌ Change: Write the distinct article bodies and the episode transcripts.
  • ❌ Update: Re-export the default content in the recipe.
  • ❌ Fix: Verify a fresh install still completes clean.
  • ❌ Code review by maintainers.
  • ❌ Reviewed by a human.
