Problem/Motivation

On a multilingual Varbase site, configuration objects can pick up an unintended language, which makes configuration translation behave inconsistently.

  • The recipe configures languages and translation, but nothing pins the language that configuration is stored in.
  • Its install: list is only language, locale, config_translation, content_translation, eca, eca_language.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Apply the Varbase Internationalization Base recipe from 1.0.x-dev on a Drupal 11.4 site.
  2. Add a second language at /admin/config/regional/language and switch the interface to it.
  3. Create or save configuration while that language is active.
  4. The configuration object is stored with that language instead of the site default, and its configuration translations then behave inconsistently.

Proposed resolution

  1. Add config_language_lock to the recipe install: list.
  2. Add "drupal/config_language_lock": "~1" to the recipe composer.json require.
  3. Add a config action on config_language_lock.settings, a simple_config_update setting locked_langcode to en and follow_site_default to true.

Config Language Lock is at 1.0.1, a stable release.
