Problem/Motivation

  1. #3619774: drupal/cloud:9.x-dev added Drupal 12 to core_version_requirement and removed obsolete core: 8.x metadata while creating the 9.x branch. This was a metadata-only compatibility update and does not establish full Drupal 12 compatibility.
  2. #3604237: Automated Drupal 12 compatibility fixes for cloud 8.x-dev contains automated Drupal Rector changes for 8.x-dev. Its latest Upgrade Status report says that Cloud is still not compatible with Drupal 12. The related MR !2377 targets 8.x, and its latest pipeline fails PHPStan and PHPCS.

Remaining tasks

  1. Create an issue fork from 9.x.
  2. Add the Drupal 12 compatibility changes.
  3. Add or update automated tests and CI coverage.
  4. Confirm Upgrade Status reports no remaining Drupal 12 blockers.
  5. Close #3604237: Automated Drupal 12 compatibility fixes for cloud 8.x-dev after this issue is linked as the 9.x-dev follow-up.
