Thanks for the kind words @dww and others for the encouragement. I thought I'd copy and paste what I wrote in the parent issue:

Over the past 6 months or so I've triaged 150+ issues in the system.module queue. Many of these were incorrectly categorised, so have been relocated to other components. Others have been closed as duplicates, postponed for more info, or where possible I've tried to help to move them along, either by reviewing or working on MRs. I'm happy to volunteer to maintain this component, with the primary goal of keeping it as lean as possible.

I can confirm I have read and understand the definition of maintainers, accept the responsibilities and am committed to following the etiquette.

Have created an MR adding myself to MAINTAINERS.txt

Reviews from mstrelan are always great to see! I think he meets the criteria and I've seen his work on the system module.
