Some simple content, such as taxonomy terms, might be good candidates as most of the time they are simple strings: name & description. We already have menu_link_content which falls in the same category.

Build content_entity plugin and derive it over a list of configured content entity types.

Followup: Convert menu_link_content to use the new plugin.
